Steelhead fishing is something that is often overlooked by many anglers but it can provide you with some of the most enjoyable days on the water that you can spend. This is particularly the case whenever they steelhead are running on their way to spawn. Because the rivers and streams are going to be full of thousands of these fish, it is difficult to get a moments rest because you will be spending most of the time pulling another one in.

Finally, fly fishing for salmon is also an excellent way to spend a day on the water. Southeast Alaska flyfishing for salmon is some of the best that can be found anywhere in the world and you can easily catch any of the 5 salmon species right here in this territory. Because the western side of the state extends along the Pacific Ocean, many salmon run up the variety of rivers and waterways that stretch all the way into British Columbia. If you happen to hit the season right, you would be surprised with how much action you will receive.
